The Lang's Body Shop & Painting, Davison's Service & Equipment,
Garzolini Crow's Hybrid, APT Powdercoat, Mean Machine Dragster
attended the Terre Haute North Vigo High School's 13th Annual
Motorsport Show. The show went on even though rain clouds lurked
above. The show was a success with close to 75 cars in attendance, rain
finally came late in the show and cut it a little short. Steve Lang and
employees from Lang's Body Shop & Painting came by to visit and see the
race car in its completed form.
Lots of students and faculty came by and
looked at the car. One student in particular
Travis Morlan, a Freshman, asked to sit in
the car. I strapped him in. Having the time of
his life, I explained the workings of a Super
Comp Dragster. I finished off by getting in
myself and starting the 700 hp engine to the
entertainment of several people.

The O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals didn't go as planned, rain delayed
most all activity's on Friday including Super Comp. On Saturday morning,
we got one hit at the track, an 8.95 on a 8.90 index and was sent straight
into eliminations in the afternoon. One run didn't prove to be enough.
Although I was ahead by .002 of a second at the start, my 8.92 wasn't
enough to hold off his 8.90. The weather finally cleared off  and we stayed
for Sundays final eliminations.

Saturday was a great day at Action City Dragway in Terre Haute, IN
winning that day's bracket race with a string of excellent reaction
times and a car that was on the dial every run. When you can get
both of these variables together, it makes for a very exciting day.
The 3rd round was too close for comfort with a perfect reaction
time of .0000 for the win.

The stands were full and the line for the famous Norwalk ice cream
was long at the inaugural NHRA Division 3 Points Race at the
Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
The Lang's Body Shop & Painting, Davison's Service &
Equipment, Garzolini Crow's Hybrid, APT Powdercoat, Mean
Machine Dragster had a good first Div. 3 outing going 5 rounds &
getting down to 6 cars. We made the 7 hour trip on Thursday and
started time runs on Friday and Saturday morning our 1st round of
eliminations got pushed into Sunday morning due to a few
sprinkles and close to 500 cars. In Sunday's elimination, we ran
close to the index and had good reaction times to get to us to the
quarter finals where we ran one of Ohio's best racers, Bill Webb.
I fumbled a little and Bill was able to get a runner up finish.
Congratulations Lance Stillwell on
your win at ET Raceway

Like most Memorial weekends in the past, Saturday morning was
spent watching the Weather Channel, checking the Internet for
weather updates and finding a track that wasn't covered in rain.
We decided on our original plans to go to Coles County Dragway
for their 2 day Memorial race. It looked as if most of the rain was
going north. Visiting our friends at Coles is like going home, it's
always a good time. After winning the 1st round, I met up with
friend and tough customer Gary (Too Tall) Morse. In the 2nd round,
I didn't give him much of a run and he won. I bought back into the
3rd round and guess who I had to run? Too Tall ! This time I gave
him a better run, I went .509 on the tree and ran 5.249 on my 5.23
dial to his .504 on the tree and ran 5.951 on a 5.93 dial. .003 of a
second at the stripe and he still wins! Some days you're just
suppose to be a spectator. As it turned out, rain cancelled the race
in the semi finals.  We woke up to rain on Sunday morning which
cancelled that race too.
