March 14-16 The 48th annual Cincinnati Cavalcade of Customs held at the Duke Energy Center was a huge success for the PerformLink dragster. Nearly 1000 spectators experienced what it's like to sit behind the wheel of a 160 mph race car. Many more asked questions and everyone had a good time. Over 400 pictures were taken of the show cars and spectators. You can see these pictures at PerformLink.net on each page. I was joined this weekend by my daughter, Savanah. As we unloaded the car, I asked where we would be parking our motorhome and trailer and was informed that it wasn't a good idea to be out at night there. By this time, Savanah was freaking out and I wasn't far behind knowing the show finished at 10:30 each night and we were going to be on our 49cc pit scooter (our redneck Harley) that would hardly carry both of us and our cooler. With Savanah's mace in hand, we made it through the weekend with no problems, hardly seeing a soul in that area. I would also like to thank the staff at the Duke Energy Center for their great hospitality. |
March 29 The PerformLink dragster was a part of the Grease Monkey customer appreciation day in Terre Haute IN. There was a hand full of race cars from dirt circle track cars to drag cars for the customers to see that day. Check out the pictures on PerformLink.net on the Cam, Head, Valve page and the Chassis Comp page. |
March & April 08 |
April 5-6 Cool temps and tricky track conditions made racing at O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis a little tough. When we pulled in on Friday, the temps were in the mid 40's and barely made it to the mid 60's by Sunday. On Saturday, we made it to the 2nd round only to throw it away with a - .003 red light. Sunday was a little better making it to the 3rd round only to get beat carrying a .000 perfect reaction time to my opponents .007. As we approached the finish line, my car moved around a little and I ran .028 off my dial to his dead on 5.585 on a 5.58 dial. Next week, we head back to Indy for the Division 3 Points race hope to see you there. |
PerformLink Dragster O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis |
April 17-20 This weekend, we were in Indianapolis for the 1st NHRA Div 3 points meet at O'Reilly Raceway Park. We ran in the Super Comp class, an Index class where the idea is to run as close to 8.90 seconds without running any quicker and how do I put this nicely, I sucked this weekend! Thursday started out with good reaction times and I did manage to post a 8.905 on the 8.90 index chattering the tires from the 1/8th mile mark on. From there on, I was either fast or I was slow and my reaction times suffered also. Rain loomed most of the weekend making it harder to predict each run. Saturday's 1st round was rescheduled for Sunday and in the 1st round, I met up with Iron Mike Fuqua. After Mike beat me, he went on to win not only Super Comp but also won Super Gas. Congratulations Mike! Our next points meet is at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk OH. |
April 26-27 We didn't race this weekend, but come join us this weekend at Action City Dragway in Terre Haute, IN on Saturday and Coles County Dragway in Charleston, IL on Sunday. |
