Exciting weekend at Coles County Dragway
with a double win
Our first weekend racing on May 8-9 at Crossroads Raceway in Terre Haute, IN and Coles County
Dragway in Charleston, IL was a couple days of rookie mistakes and bad luck but Memorial weekend
2010 was a totally different story.  We doubled up in the Super Pro Class winning Saturday and Sunday.
With a string of good reaction times and a deadly consistent car, the Motorsports Unlimited, Lang's
Paint & Body,
Edelbrock, Crow Hybrids, Mean Machine Race Cars and Davison Service & Equipment
dragster was able to make it though 14 tough rounds on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday's Final round was with my old nemesis, Terry Willard driving his beautiful Oldsmobile 442. My
slightly better light and dead on 5.172 on my 5.17 dial was enough to turn on my win light.

Sunday was the Hopper Family Memorial Race that added a $200 bonus to the winner's check. I must
credit a killer car for easing my job of winning the race. 6 of 7 rounds were 5.18 second runs. In the final,
I met up with Tim Papp driving a very nice looking Big Block Chevy rear engine dragster. Papp's car ran
.004 thousands over his 4.92 dial in and my dragster ran .007 over my 5.18 dial but his .034 reaction time
was no match to my .008 and as we crossed the finish line, my win light came on, turning an already
great weekend into an exciting double winning weekend.
